The Broward Sheriff’s Advisory Council is a non-profit 501 (c)(3) corporation formed in 1985 to support programs that enhance public safety and to support first responders killed or injured in the line of duty. We are supported solely by donations from the generosity of the community and its members.

Broward Sheriff’s Advisory Council Accomplishments

    Tactical Equipment

    Funded the $198,000 purchase of new state-of-the-art tactical vests and helmets for Broward Sheriff’s Office SWAT Team.

    Support to the Fallen

    Provided $150,000 to families of fallen officers or those permanently injured in the line of duty through the Florida Pre-Paid Scholarship Program, other tuition assistance, and direct funds for day-to-day expenses.

    Wellness Programs

    Provided $13,000 to Broward Sheriff’s Office to conduct Suicide Prevention Training.

    Water Safety

    Supported Pediatric Associates Foundation in a drowning prevention program that offered swimming lessons to children in Broward County.

    Tablet Computers

    Provided 500 Tablet Computers to Broward County middle school students

  •  

    Opioid Crisis

    Provided $30,000 to Broward Sheriff’s Office to purchase Narcan kits for treating overdose victims.

    Meals

    Provided over 3,000 meals to neighbors in need during the holiday season.

    Back-To-School Supplies

    Supports community organizations serving at-risk children through the distribution of back-to-school supplies.

    K-9 Officer

    Helped purchase a K-9 officer (Council) to work as a Broward Sheriff detection deputy.

    Teddy Bears

    Provided 2,500 teddy bears to first responders to give to trauma victims.

    Bicycles

    Bicycles for Champions recognized the dedication and determination of 600 Broward County middle school youth through mentorship, education, and the distribution of bicycles.
